Have you ever wished there was some way you could get back in touch with someone you lost contact with?  You’ve tried to locate them, but failed?  Then one day you happen upon them on facebook and as you look at their profile you begin to wonder if it was intentional that they moved and didn’t give you their new address?  You want to send them a friend request because you miss them.  Your mouse hovers over the button, your finger ready to click.  But something stops you.  You’re apprehensive about reconnecting.  You see by their photos and status updates that they have changed into a very different person in the few short years you were out of contact.  You realize that even if they accept your friend request and choose to get back in touch, you will never have the relationship you had before.  Part of you wants to just stay in the past and remember them like they were, remember your friendship the way it was.  You don’t want to find out the extent of change and experience the heartache of being forced to part ways because you no longer have anything in common.  It’s easier that way.  And happier.
